Not-So-Happy Holidays

erratic_prophet | 30 December, 2005 11:22

Wow.. I really haven't written is a while, have I? It's not all my fault, I assure you! Part of it was work and my crazy hours. (I worked till 11:30PM quite a few nights in a row and then a ten hour shift somewhere in there.) The other part? Well, I've been doing battle with amazon...

I'm sure you're thinking, "Battle with amazon? But why? R has a love/love relationship with them!" And you would've been right until a couple of weeks ago. That's when the debacle started...

I had a gift certificate burning a hole in my pocket, so I thought I'd buy a game. I almost never buy games, so I thought it'd be a nice change. I chose the Super Saver Shipping because it was not only free, but also guaranteed to arrive by Christmas-- which, at this point, was well over a week away. It took nearly all of that week for the friggin order to process. Why? I still don't know. But amazon was still insisting that my order would arrive before Christmas, so I figured it would be shipped two-day or overnight. I even had a giggle or two over that. Serves them right for taking so long to process.

Well, turns out the laugh was on me. My order didn't arrive in time for Christmas. It still hasn't arrived. No, UPS says that my order will arrive by January 3rd. Does that sound like anytime before Christmas to you? So I complained...

I got an email saying that if my order didn't arrive by the 28th-- it didn't-- to click a link and they'd investigate. The link was another complaint form, but I filled it out and waited.

I got my second email. It said that if my order didn't arrive the the 3rd, I should click a link and they'd investigate. Sound familiar? I just love getting form emails..

So, today, I sent off my third complaint. Because now? I'm really pissed off. I spewed so much hate and anger into civilized words that I hope my email eats through several modems and monitors before someone gets to read it because? This time? I want someone to actually do something instead of sending me some fucking form email.

I also don't want to hear about how this is how big businesses run. I work for a large company and if we had shoddy customer service like that? We wouldn't be such a large company. I think amazon just got too big for their britches.

Oh my, i feel for you. I loathe it when all you get is forms to fill out, or worse, some moron on the other end who is in India, has no hope in understanding what your actually trying to explain. It's not their fault of course, it's the big business out sourcing to cut costs.
Keep on their backs R, sometimes even Amazon need a foot up the bum!

Happy New Year to you, may 2006 bring health and hapiness your way :)

Michelle- The third letter seems to have done the trick. They sent out a new package-- because I'm sure that the other is damaged and that's why it's taking so long to arrive-- that should arrive tomorrow. I just have to refuse the late-- and very likely damaged-- package should it ever arrive. It's just a shame that you have to throw a fit for anything to get done.

Happy New Year to you too!
